The result is a big collection with a sequence of photographs which can be exported in several movie formats. The program i use is Apple Quicktime (Pro). One of my first try-outs can be watched here on Vimeo.com: http://www.vimeo.com/11155868
Also check out my channel on Vimeo: http://www.vimeo.com/webseries .
I am currently busy with Stop Motion tests, it looks a bit like Time Lapse but this means making photographs of an animation movie (for example a clip with moving toys or puppets). The first Stop Motion video i made was a short clip with my business cards that multiplied themselves rapidly. I took about 400 businesscards which i dropped down on a piece of black cloth (my mini table top). Everytime i dropped a new card i made a new picture (so i took 400 pictures in a row for it). Fun to do and i can imagine getting better in this type of photography will broaden your creativity (even business-wise maybe).
I will keep you informed and update this post with new made Timelapse and Stopmotion content when i finish new material.
